Cloughjordan secured all three points today with a solid 2–0 victory over BT Harps in the league. 

The breakthrough came after just 14 minutes, when Kevin Kennedy finished  with a fine header to give Cloughjordan an early lead. The team grew in confidence from there, pressing well and controlling the tempo.

The advantage was doubled on 29 minutes, as Shane Williams made a darting run from the middle of the pitch to latch on to a pin point cross from Kevin Kennedy , which Shane finished with a header to make it 2–0.

The  midfield put in a tireless shift to disrupt play and keep the hosts on the front foot with Eddie Brady winning most of the balls in the air and Shane Williams providing some great support play through the middle for cloughjordans attackers. Our defence put in a strong display to stop the BT attackers getting in on our goal with sheamus Williams and Kevin Quinlan commanding the defence.  

Andy Brennan was unlucky not to score when he had a long range effort hit the post and ricochet back across the front of the goal line but unfortunately it didn’t go in the net. 

In the end, two first-half goals and a clean sheet reflected a strong all-round performance, giving Cloughjordan a deserved league win.
